Hey Zeke, could have used that. A buddy called me up last week. He always wants help with something. Usually something stupid.

He called and asked if I have a hand saw. I said sure do, but can't get to it right now. He then asked if I have a sawzall, I said yeah and it's right here with me. You're welcome to it.

He said come on down to my MIL's house, I'm cutting down the cherry tree out back and the trunk is only as wide as XYZ. Said it would take forever with his axe. Said he has his sawzall and with TWO sawzalls we can get it done in no time.

Uh, no thanks told him. Not jabbing my sawzall into a tree breaking blades ruining it. Told him call this other guy who just bought a chainsaw. Turns out other guy knows better and refused to be bothered.

I never went but he got it down. The thought of two sawzalls hacking at each other. :headshake

I swear some people.

That is one messed up cut.

If I had a band saw that would cut 10" i wouldn't have to do that the hard way. Skillsaw is good for 2 1/2" leaving 5" of meat in the middle. It's for a raised planter so I don't give a **** about how it looks. I pried and split open the last couple feet. It's reclaimed lumber from a house with some dryrot and termites.

How would you have done it? That's with no money spent on having it ripped at the lumber yard. They won't cut old lumber anyway. I have a thickness planer but I'm not going to bother.
