Found this today at swap meet, thought it was neat came with nice wooden box it says property of U.S.N I'm assuming that means navy?? and somebody carved Sub and 7-1-54 on it, I just wanted to know a little more information about it. What was it intended for? like measuring a specific item? has anyone else seen/have one?

Thanks David

Well it starts at .050 and goes to .370 I put a rule next to it and .010 is equivalent to half a centimeter.

At least part of it looks like a taper gauge, like on an engineer's pocket tool...you stick it into a gap and read the line where it stops.
