Old Homemade Pump/Oiler Identify
I'm trying to figure out what this homemade pump/oiler may have been used for? I got it from a neighbor that was cleaning out his fathers house after his father passed away.
Being my neighbor knows I'm always working on rebuilding old machinery, He figured I may be able to use it or some of the parts from it instead of just tossing it out.
My neighbor said it had been sitting in the corner of his fathers basement for at-least 45 years.
Judging by this label on the base, I'm guessing the base was from an old wringer style washing machine.
The base is heavy gauge sheetmetal & has a art deco style to it so I'm sure I can find a use for it.
As for the other parts I have no clues as to how this pump/oiler was suppose to work? It appears to have two piston style pumps on one end that operate on a camshaft that is turned with a hand crank!
The other end is motor powered (no motor) & it operates a gear-head style pump.
There is also some type of valve on the top that looks as though it may be some type of flow direction control? It also has what looks like a paddle wheel that may interact somehow with the valve/flow direction control?
Here's a few pictures of the unit, Maybe someone can give me a idea on how this system was supposed to work.
