A friend of mine scrapped an old 70s ford plow truck, so he let me take all the prehistoric plow hydraulics off of it, they all work as far as I know.

I got the engine driven pump, the control block that the cables went to, the power up gravity down plow lift cylinder, and the left and right cylinders to angle to the plow.

I am curious to see if anyone has any interesting ideas for a project, keep in mind all the cylinders are power one way and thats it, (not sure the technical term)

I have asked several friends for ideas and all they say is log splitter, while i would love that, these cylinders cant be rated for more then a ton, who knows, any info from anyone or thoughts would be cool!!

use it like an electric port-o-power. weld up a cart with the pump and battery and switch box, and use the rams with a hefty return spring welded on, and fab some monster C clamps to use the rams. I will be doing that for my impala frame wrap here sometime soon. bends the metal and holds it super tight to the frame for welding.

I am guessing it is a gate style hydraulic pump? post up some pics when you can !

*edit. reread the post*

engine driven... hrm.. could probably get a saco or prestolite motor to bolt up to it...

Now that is a good thought, not something I have thought of yet, would have came in handy when i had to sister up the frame of a ****** old dodge cummins plow truck, I will def post up some pictures when I can, all the parts are sitting in a container in front of my truck right now, gotta drag em out and start welding!!!

Snow plow!

About the crane idea, don't forget you have to deal with Archimedes. A 1 ton ram with a long lift bar ain't 1 ton at the tip of the bar any more...

Either a plow or sell the hydraulics. Those engine driven pumps many people that plow would love to have and will pay good money for them.
