Old japanese made jet drill press

I can pick up an old Jet drill press made in Japan. Are they ok? What is your opinion compared to an old sears

Check it out....some are not bad
Japan better than china most of the time

Thanks for getting back, I don't know the speeds. says 400, 800,1200,1600 . Cant think of a 4 speed dp

Would 400 be for wood? That seems slow enough to do steel without burning up bits. Just asking as I know I am no expert in drilling.

I have one. 13" swing. It's a tank, way better built than the new Jet **** and just as good as any american equipment. I added the large slow-down sheave to mine.
