The holes were too small for the lag bolts I took.Used drywall screws. And straps.
Home safe n sound.
Cut a 4” wide 1/4” steel plate and it’s a good 1/8” short at the end of the cut? Appears to start out crooked. I think it’s a homemade bandsaw blade.
Think it’s the old blade?

Probably should have cut it flat through only 1/4” instead of vertical 4”.
Right?
That was a better cut.Possiblt a minor adjustment needed.
This thing is awesome!

Hello, newbie here. I just picked this Keller power hacksaw up from a old fella for $90. My first question is, was that a decent deal? 2nd question is does anyone know how old this machine might be? The gentleman that I got it from did not know, just said that he has owned it for many years. The saw seems to run very well, however, the blade was shot. Any idea where I can find blades at a reasonable price? Thank you in advance.
I bought that identical saw in 1999.I would have to say, you got one heck of a deal. I paid $250cdn. I have not replaced the blade, just yet. At the grand old age of 78, I choke on $25 for a single bi-metal blade.

I have two power Hacksaws
One is a 6" with a hydraulic blade lift which I need to sell sometime.
The other is an 8" Wicksteed hydraulic resistance saw, which can put 800 lb of down pressure on the blade in the cut when you turn it right up, stick a 4tpi blade in and it will eat solid bar stock. I paid £50 for it too which was a hell of a deal.

I have found my best deals on power hacksaw blades on eBay. Shop around. General guideline for saw blades is 3 teeth in contact with the work at all times. Thinner material, more threads per inch (TPI). My Marvel can march through pretty thick steel, provided the correct blade and coolant are operating properly. I had to rebuild my coolant pump, sitting in rotten coolant for years.

They certainly can cut thick material, if you have patience! This was 6.5" round, past the capacity of the saw. Took 3 hours on the nose! Part came out pretty nice though.

That blade was doing so well until I ruined it on the HAZ of a torch cut.
