Last week Saturday stumbled on a Garage sale, as I walked up I saw a sign "Free" and in that free pile was what looked like a Kennedy box and some guy looking it over !! I'm saying to myself missed it by a minute! Suddenly he moves on and I quickly snag the freebie without looking it over. Turns out to be a Kennedy 520 7 drawer machinist box probably 50s to 60s vintage with some rust on the bottom/inside bottom which I quickly dispatched with citrus acid soak then baking soda rinse followed by rustoleum rust primer. One small rust thru hole in the bottom otherwise great box, oh and someone ripped out the green felt too. Square top and no cylinder lock so old, anyone know the age ? Pics before and after, the paint matched almost perfect to original color. Wrapped old leather handle with leather strip as it was falling apart.
