I read them after I posted and frankly w/o seeing the full truss or at least the bottom chord im not sure how anyone can effectively state anything with certainty.

You're correct. Then only certainty is having an engineer go over this. But in this case, an older lady just wanted to know a few basic thing since she's probably neve been around building much. I think the folks here did her good advising to just not trust the situation, it isn't worth the time and trouble given that insulation as likely to be insalled.
Per GJ, this went on and on, so at some point there just isn't anything to add. That's why I say read the previous and if you see something amiss, discuss. In her case, I think she's been well enough advised. And the consensus was negative to yours.
I believe her bottom chords are 2 x 4's as well.
