My dad and I restored an old Lincoln arc stick welder 6 yrs ago, I was wondering if anybody knew of a place or of how I could restore the lettering on the aluminum face plate? the knob is an old metal knob, the face plate is in great shape I was just wondering if anybody had any cool ideas or of a place I could send it to redo the numbers on the plate? Thanks guys.

Any pics of what you are talking about?

You could always take a picture with something to reference the size, to a sign and banner place and have them make up some decals.

then buy an old plate then

Buy an old plate where????

They don't make plates for the older 250/250. I know of at least 3 different designs/styles Lincoln used, but when you buy a new one, it is one size fits all.

To the Op, I had someone take my old scanned plate and used Photoshop and re-created the plate. It came out awesome. I just have had the time to bring it to a printshop. I got the idea from here:
