I picked this up today fairly cheap, and its seems to be operational, other than the rust is everywhere. Not just rusty; but lichens... - Sorry, this is not "patina"...

I'm going to E-tank or otherwise de-rust it, and want to paint it in original color(s). I suspect "Walker Blue" but what was walker blue from 1919 (earliest pat. Application) to probably mid thirties or so? (newest patent was 1927)

I have already searched for GJ posts on it as well as Googling it elsewhere. - No luck...

And I did find a pic of what the wood handle slabs should look like so that part should be easy...

Can anyone ID a pic or color for "Walker Blue" from 1920 - 1935? :dunno:

Pics of mine today:

Thanks Don! Ooo Paint! (haven't seen ANY pics with paint on it...) Does the paint on there look original? Or if not, is there some under it that might be rubbed out for a comparison?

Don, Mine is the same limited handle movement. (unless there is an "unlock" I haven't found.)

Don, any chance of getting any oxidation on some of the paint rubbed out and looking for the original color match?

Is there any paint left on the handle? (newer Hydro models have yellow handles...) - Looks like at least the lower part is.

Are the big wheel centers painted?
