I just picked up an old lathe. Gonna restore just 'cause it looks so cool and use it a little. I guess it to be circa 1920, flat belt drive but with a 4 jaw scroll chuck. Seems tight with little wear and what looks like a full set if change gears. No pics yet, but soon. I'll be lookin' for info on parts, repairs and general info. Any good sites for this???,

Make, model, needed.

Lots of machine tool sites, but many of the more active ones are maker specific...

and of course:

Thanks for the leads guys. I've found some info. It was originally a foot/pedal powered lathe made by F&J Barnes, around 1860-1880 I guess. Converted to power later but I'm missing to motor and mounts.

Pics later.

When you say old, you mean really OOOOLD! I'd expected another circa 1970s machine, cause that's "old" to many of our esteemed colleagues.

Glad you are going to put it back in operation. Consider just shining it up and leaving the patina. Looking forward to your photos.
