Hey Guys and Gals, so this hacksaw has been sitting in my dad's toolbox for as long as I can remember and he recently passed from covid and now I'm going through all of his tools seeing what I want to keep and what I want to get rid of to make space for new tools, any idea on the brand? As it seems like it's missing the scales on the handle.16597390488543325972439267066411.jpg

I have two of that basic style. One branded Lenox, the other Craftsman. It may or may not have had scales. My Lenox (two of 'em) are blue, and the Craftsman red. There's often blade storage in the top tube accessed by a small cover above the handle.

I'm not sure who's the OEM -- but we had a thread on this type of hacksaw a year or two ago, which you might find by searching a bit, and as I recall it had some ideas of who might have made this kind for others to private label.

Interesting that the first one there shows no scales.

Dreier Bros. They made hacksaws for whole bunch of brands. Here are the patents for it:
This.
The designs changed slightly over the years.
I’m not sure whether Klein took over manufacture at some point, or whether the design was out of patent long enough that Klein copied it, but Klein was still making a similar model within the last decade or so.

Yeah I'm not sure who told me, somebody says it looks like it was a rigid, but I've also seen others where it's like blue point and Klein, so I'm not really sure but yeah this was pretty helpful
