My handle is techinspector1, I have been helping others on boards like this since about 2003, when I joined ClubHotRod.com. I just happened onto this board while searching blower installations for 4.9 liter Ford sixes.

I did a 20 year stint as the chief technical inspector at Firebird International Raceway in Phoenix from 1990 to 2010 and worked for a couple of years as a chassis certificaton inspector for NHRA.

I've built entire cars and trucks from scratch as well as designing and building independent front suspension systems from scratch, so although I can help others with most any part of a car or truck, my main area of expertise is the basics of engine rebuilding, getting things right on paper before buying any parts. Most youngsters paint themselves into a corner by running right out and purchasing a cam for their new project before they know anything about the motor or anything else about the build. The two last things that should be bought for a build are the cam and torque converter.

I will be glad to work with you on the board or on private message or I will give you my private cell number on private message if you want to talk to me about something. People helped me when I got into this hobby, so I feel compelled to give some back.

Welcome , I'm new also but learning a bit so far , my son built his first engine last year and could have used some advice . he belongs to the turbo buick forum and took ( in my opinion ) a lot of bad advice . He's working on the body now but will be ironing out some of the engine build issues soon . Hope to use brain a little .
