Hey all..
I bought a endoscope camera to use on my old android phone that I don't use anymore. The phone is a Casio Comando.its a mil spec ruff duty that would be perfect to use in the garage.
Well I get the camera and go to install app and it won't work.says need to update the phone. Well I can't update with the phone connected to my wifi because it disables the wifi to update. Is there any way to get this update without the phone being activated? Thanks. Jim

Updates are normally pushed out by the carrier (AT&T, Verizon, etc). The phone downloads the update via WiFi, but it needs to do some sort of verification through the carrier first.

I don't know which model Commando you have, but it looks like you probably can't update it past 4.1 (Jellybean). Android is up to 7 (Nougat) now.

It's not clear how far you can update the phone if you root it. What version of Android does the software require?

Another option might be to look for alternate software -- search the App store for "Endoscope" (you'll have to set up an account for the phone) and see if there's anything compatible with your phone.
