Old Race Seats Repurposed

I am sure some guys out there have old race seats sitting around waiting for the next swapmeet...I have a bunch...so one slow day at the shop I started to make chairs out of them...kids love them...drawback: not as small now as I was them...lol...so I can barley fit into one....just a cool garage ideal for the masses...

I did that a couple of years ago with fiberglass drag seats. They really make better video game chairs for the kids right on the floor. I had an "office chair" in the shop for a while - never found an angle that made the seat feel right, it was in the way - BOOM the parts are back in the attic. Likely just me - I sit in a race bucket and I expect a steering wheel, tac, shifter and a christmas tree outside the windshield.

I did something similar too, maybe one day I will reupolster them...

I have seen those from some of my suppliers made as new office chairs.

I never used a office car frame but I did make a framefor a set of T-bird TurboCoupe seats. The frame I made allows them to recline back, just like in the car. More than once I havesat down, reclined back and watched some TV in the garage only to wake up later.

I have the back seat from my old trooper waiting for me to make a frame to turn it into my garage visitors couch!
