I am in the process of doing a bathroom reno and came across a strange situation.

Not sure why there are 3 studs here, they are butted up to 1 stud, which I why I am confused. I am 99% sure this is not a supporting wall. But thought I would ask here.

The Roof joists run parallel to this wall.

It looks there used to be an old wall perpendicular to this area, but that was removed by the previous home owners. The 2 studs are coming down in this demo.

I need to relocate the vent pipe, and these studs for the doorway.

There's your answer. Looking at all of that I see ample evidence of prior work, including a possible addition. Just be sure you understand exactly what is needed to hold up the building before proceeding.
