So we moved into an old 1850's home recently and I have been slowly modernizing the lighting in the house. There were some rooms that had no lighting at all.....
So I am adding some Lithonia square flush mount fluorescent fixtures I brought from our last house. They are pretty nice utilitarian fixtures that use 2 circular bulbs one inside the other. So in order to make this work I had to get power from one of the wall outlets in the room and run it through the ceiling. Then over to the brick exterior wall which is now an interior wall. I then ran it through an EMT box (connections) then into 1/2 EMT down to another box with a switch. The wife loves the industrial look? Anyway now she wants me to find some old school two button light switches as she doesn't like the regular toggle switch and thinks the two button switch lends itself better to the age of the house. For the electrical pros does any of the manufacturers make such a switch? Also does my light installation sound legal? I wasn't sure on the EMT conduit part as I have not had to use that before. I did remove the tongue and groove paneling so that I could properly run the 12/2 through the wall framing.
So did I do it wrong/right? Ready for my tongue lashing...............
