Put a new tire on my OLD wheel barrow yesterday. I was quite impressed with the wheel. Six bolts hold the split wheel together, making it easy to r&r the tire. Most amazing though was the construction. The center of that cone shaped wheel half has a grease fitting, and it's open (path wise for grease) clear to the ends of the axle shaft. The thing must hold 2 pounds or more of grease!
Take a close look at the bracket holding the end of the axle shaft - it's threaded! Remove the axle via the 4 bolts in the brackets, then unscrew one of the brackets, and the shaft slides out of the hub. The hub is just a smooth bore riding on the axle, but it's over an inch of bearing surface on each end. They don't make them like that any more.
