Old SK

Was at my dads on Christmas and thought let me go check his old toolbox and see what tools he has stashed away. He has an old rusted remline box(rusty) fillled with all old SK tools! No ratchets but lots of sockets. I know I lost a lot of his tools when I was younger and now I’m kicking myself because I would love to have them in my box. I believe they were at one time his dads whom I never met as he was not in the picture. Plan on going and doing an actual inventory. I’m torn on whether I should get them set up in a road box or something as I know it’s an incomplete set and would need to add to it for a functional road box or should I sell it to someone who will appreciate the vintage tools more than myself...

How old is "old"? Are they knurled band? What kind of condition? If they are nice and shiny a collector would probably be interested, if they are rusty and heavily used then probably not much value beyond putting together for a road box like you said.

If you watch ebay there are sellers that sell individual SK sockets reasonable depending on shape.

Didn’t appear to be beat up at all just dirty. I’ll have to take a closer look. It’s at least 40 years old as I know my father wouldn’t have purchased any of this

Why not keep them, fill in the blanks and use them in your road box? Absolutely nothing wrong with them.

Don't! You'll regret that too.
Just find the missing sockets on eBay or the classifieds here, grab a used ratchet and enjoy them.

Start with some pictures, with close ups good enough to read all the info on the sockets. 40 years old is late 1970's, just middle aged.

Line them up, inventory and see what you have and what is missing, then decide which way you want to go.
