old snap on box repairs

I have finally collected my grandpas old snap on box from my dads house. He bought it new in early 70s. He passed away in 99 and this is what i learned to work on cars out of. bottom is a KRA 396 and top is a KR 531A. both need to love and clean up. I am looking to get them in better shape, not necessarily restore them but working better. i started by cleaning up the top drawer. it has been painted at some point in time as well.

couple of questions.
-does anyone know how to replace the aluminum drawer pull pieces. ( I have new ones he purchased but never changed).
-any chance i can get some new slides and trim pieces under warranty?

Call Snap On customer service. Slides, yes. If they ask if you're the original owner, tell them you inherited the box. Don't hold your breath on trim pieces.

Does that box have a parts bin in the back ? I had a similar one with inflatable tires and a hitch on it. Was the biggest box so had in the early 70s. Many years later I needed to replace a few slides and they said nla.

Yes, from what i have seen it has a parts bin on the back. I dont have the key so not sure whats behind the door....date code is 71.

I need at least 2 sets of slides so i hope they will cover it.

If they do not cover the slides, they are not expensive.
