we have one of these around the shop, needless to say it hasnt been used much lately lol. can these be used to map waveforms on newer things, like say a cam/crank signal? I have no knowledge about this machine, other than it works on older distributor setups.

any info would be appreciated,

Diggin' a thread up from the dead....

But anyhow - yes!

These were used back in the day (or in my case - yesterday, and maybe this afternoon!) for checking the output of mag pick ups in distributors - and there's not that much difference in a crank sensor, etc.

Wave form will look different of course, from a hall effect or a reluctance type - but it's still usable.

Do you still have the manual for yours? I was going to scan and archive mine anyhow "just in case" if you need it.
