I inherited some old snap on ratchets, 1/4 drive ratchet and long handled 1/2 drive, any idea how old they are, tough to read any makes other than snap on. Ive seen date charts but theres not much to go from.

The 1/4 drive looks like its stamped CAN for Canada I would assume. GM-70-M is what it looks like to me the G could be an O?

The 1/2 looks like it has a 7 or something on it.. pat no 1854513

Thanks for your help

Between the lever, look for a year mark when they were made.Look up that year mark on Snap On's yearmark sheet.

For the 1/2 ratchet I see between the on and off switch there is an E. Is that it? 1944?

Yep..Someone in the thread posted that the date code was between the on/off labels. Looks like the 1/4in has something in the middle too..but hard to tell what it is.
