So... About a week ago I was driving home from work and I stopped by a garage sale. As is my custom, I asked if there were any tools or guitars for sale and was told "no" to the guitar question and directed to a small cardboard box full of tools.

There were two sockets and a small wrench in the box. I asked how much for all of it and was told "a quarter a piece". The larger socket and wrench were unimpressive, the 3/8 drive 1/2" socket was more so.

The SO gurus here can correct me if I am wrong, but I believe that this socket is 76 years old! Not bad for a quarter, huh?

A 1934 dated socket, but stamped with an older stamp for the "1/2" marking. Id love to have this one for my collection, sent you a PM.

It really makes me wonder what cars this socket turned bolts on! It must have a pretty interesting history. You can't see it in the pictures, but there is almost no wear on the "working" surfaces of the socket. You would think that a 1/2 inch tool would get a lot of use, but that wear is hardly noticeable on this piece. Go Snap On quality...
