I spent the afternoon this Veteran’s day fixing my dad’s Snap-On tool box. My dad was a mechanic in the Army, including a stop in Vietnam. He passed away in May from Covid-19, one month short of his 85th birthday. He fed his family with this toolbox set up. He could fix just about anything. He steered me and my two brothers away from being mechanics, I’m an accountant, funny thing is, I love turning wrenches on my cars, mowers, etc. shout out to Snap-On they sent me new slides free of charge. My dad bought the box 1979ish. IMG_0671.jpgIMG_0674.jpgIMG_0675.jpg

Say a little prayer and thank him for his service for us.
What did you say to Snap On to get replacement slides on a 40YO box?

Glad you can carry on the family tradition of self-reliance. I also have an old Snap-On tool box that belonged to my Dad, and I always smile when I use a tool from it. Remember to thank your Dad every time you use a tool from that box. I have always always done that because it feels like the right thing to do.

I called them, told them my dad passed in May and I inherited his box and I was repairing the slides. I was ready to pay for the slides, and Snap-On said no, it was on them and shipped me the slides. So, next time I’m near a Snap-On truck will buy a few tools!!
