old snap on tool box

i have just recently received an old snap on tool box from my grand father and i was wondering if you guys could help identify it more. i know its the k60/k200 box, i was just wondering if it was just possible to figure out the year it was made in. doing my research today i've read that there was information about these boxes etched in the back but i couldnt find anything like that. i hope the pictures help

I don't think they date-stamped their boxes that early, but I'm no expert.

That box is in too good of shape to be restored. The original patina is superior to new paint. Now if it was in pretty rough shape, I could understand a full restore.

Wow, that thing is awesome. I bet it has some stories to tell. Mind sharing a little bit about your grand father? Looks like he took really good care of it.

As you already know it is a super rare, collectable and thus $$$$ box. Model K60 super chest and K200 roller cab. Produced from 1939 - 1946. I think the one you have is a later model, but I am not real familiar with the pre 50's boxes.

Just so you know. You posting that is like a little old lady showing up to a car show parking lot with a mint original shelby 427 cobra. Saying O this is just my daily driver.

im glad so many people like it. my grandpa lives in Pasadena Texas, and from what my dad told me, he bought it off a guy around 10 years ago for $100 in new braunfels and knew that it could be worth something. i got it because he doesnt have any use for any more and wanted me to have. i know not of any stories about it.

i have no plans to sell but i am going to clean it up but not quite sure where to put it.
