I got this box at a estate sale for $50 yesterday! how old is it? I really don't need another toolbox, what's it really worth if i wanted to sell it.

I needs a good cleaning and maybe some paint, but all the drawers work great.

In that condition I'd say $200-$250 in my area. Probably better to just keep and use IMO. Late 60's kra300.

The model# and year are stamped on the back of your box.

I sold a beat the hell KRA300F a couple months ago for $75, hope that helps.

Now that was a good bargin price for a Snap-On tool box! Wish I could come across a deal like that. I think it would definitely be worth restoring. Good find!
I just can't see paying alot of $$$$ for a used Snap-On tool box just to have a tool box with a Snap-On name on it. If I were going to spend that type of cash for a tool box, of course it would have to be a brand new Snap-On tool box (or any other brand new one for that matter).
Because when it comes down to it, any tool box that is going to be used for, is just to store tools.

I have one just like it, minus the chrome trim on the drawer handles. The KR300 is considered a semi-classic because of the unique tambour door. Since I never close mine, I almost forget it's there.

If I were going to sell mine, I'd probably ask $250. If you put in about six hours grunt labor to disassemble, clean, lube the slides and really shine with steel wool and WD40, you'd get $250 if you are patient enough.

Nice find for $50.

As for what it's worth? You only paid $50 for it so why not pass the deal along to someone else for say $75?

As is I would probably pay up to $100-$125. Depending on what it looks like in person.

If you spend some time and cleaned it up. I would go up to $200, maybe $250 depending on what it looks like cleaned up. Do you have the key?

Good to see that but am slightly curoius about the age. Reason: There is a box and cabinet combination in a local pawn shop , asking price $995. (I'm not interesting in buying it, this is just for info) The box and cabinet have the rounded edges, don't have the fold down front. I couldn't find the model number on the back.

Also for info, just for price comparison on used tools. Same shop had a holder of 12 SO sockets, standard sizes up to 1 1/4 1/2 inch drive, for $120, said he would take $100. I wasn't interested because I already have those sizes.

Nice find. I found two different top boxes from the sixties and refurbed them both down to bare metal. It was quite a project but well worth it in the end. I'd say the way it sits I'd pay $100 realizing I'd be restoring it.

If you ever think of selling around that price I travel up to New England for business all the time. Actually will be starting a project around the Worcester area in a few weeks. Good luck with it if you decide to keep it.

I would not paint that. I'd clean it with soap and water, then go over it with a clay detailing bar to REALLY clean it. Then I'd use some polish and wax. I'd also remove the drawers to clean and lube the slides.

To me, that box would be more desirable with clean, original flawed paint than new, soulless spray-bomb paint.
