Old Specialty Pliers

Howdy,
Found these pliers in an old Craftsman Tool Box from a sale last week. Just curious if they had a special use (besides cutting wire). I like the way (I assume) the part for the palm of your hand is flat. Seems like a good fit.

Also curious if anyone can recognize what's left of the maker's mark.

Those are a pair of Vaughn & Bushnell battery pliers according to ebay.
