Old table saw top uses?

I picked up a Delta saw carcass/stand today for $30 on CL.

Nice cast iron top and two stamped steel wings. I have a couple of thoughts about what to use the top for. I've considered bolting the cast top on the right on my contractors saw, and then the extensions to it's right to replace the particle board/laminate extension table that is there already. The second idea is to build an outfeed table that I can easily hang on the back of the saw when needed.

I've seen posts about making a router table but I have a really nice one already.

What are some other ideas for an old table saw top?

The router part sounds very nice! If you have ever seen the new saws with the Marble like tops and the price tag to go with it,they are stunning to look at.

Check out OWWM to see if parts are needed over there. If it has stamped steel wings, probably not that old or valuable.

Yes, the saw table matches you existing saw, it makes a perfect extension wing, even has miter slots for a crosscut sled.

Since you already have a router table, that's the second most common re-purposing.

Do you have a disc sander? This is an easy build and works well.

Once, I made shadetree surface grinder, but it was pretty crude.

So I've narrowed this down to 2 options.

1) Extension wing, would make a good solid wing.

2) Cut the front 11" off and make an out feed table.

Seems like it would be a PITA to cut, but an 11" out feed table would be great.

Hi, so I realize this was a long time ago. However, I am considering the out feed table option for my contractor's saw, and I couldn't find any other ideas like this online where someone had created an outfeed table from a table saw top. What did you end up doing with this extra table top? Am I crazy for thinking about doing this? the table weighs about a hundred pounds, so is it realistic to be setting it up and breaking it down since the saw is mobile, and I don't want the outfeed table to take a lot of space? (I assume that's why you suggested to cut off the front - it could double as a nice assembly surface, so I don't mind the full 27" depth of the table top.)
