yup, be careful though, nowadays its bad to know a manual labor trade, they think everyone needs to go to college and get a degree in midevil basketweaving , trades are BAD.

Hey, have you seen this book, "Shop Class as Soul Craft" by Matthew Crawford?

The first part of the book addresses that very thing, the fact that over the twentietch century, "education" became less learning about skills and trades and more about preparing for college.

It also goes into the very thing perhaps anyone on this site can attest to, that peculiar feeling of pride and accomplishment when you finish a project, no matter how simple or complex.

I really, really do recommend this book. The author has a Ph.D. in political science, I think, but also operates a motorcycle repair shop.
