Hi guys! I'm new to the forum but have really enjoyed the discussions and have learned quite a bit. What I would like to know is do any of you have a display of some type to showcase old tools. My Dad has given me some of my grandfathers tools and I would like to make something to hang in my garage. I would really appreciate any ideas. Thanks in advance.

I'd make something like this guy has against the wall but put a simple wood framed glass door on the front. You could even use an old window you find in the garbage or something.

Also check out Fine Woodworking Magazine (or their website); I recollect one of their ongoing popular projects is tool displays.

I think there are a number of sites that will sell you plans for a hanging tool chest, maybe google will find those for ya.

Show us a photo of gramps' tools when you get a chance!

I don't but I have an older Stanley hammer -- nothing too special but I use it everyday. He's still alive. But it makes me think back thirty years or so, to when I was a kid and we built stuff together.
