This is an old vise mounted to a bench at my company warehouse. Its been here way longer than my twenty years, and the company has been in business since 1906 (though I know its not that old). It doesn't appear to be anything too special, but has helped me out over the years on maybe a half dozen occasions when I have had to hack saw something or fabricate a piece of plastic or plexiglas. I've looked quite a bit, but haven't seen one like this. Thank you, Ned

That appears to be an Asian built vise.
+1 and if it goes back to maybe '70s to early '80s, it is probably Japanese. I have a Western Auto 4" bought new in '82 or '83 that was made in Japan, Not long after, I think Taiwanese vises became common. Eventually econo grade vises became mostly Chicom, though there are still some Taiwanese and maybe Indian made vises being sold.

In the pix, that vise seems to have a deeper throat than usual.

Thank you, yes, it doesn't look that high of quality to me when I look around a the way the edges here and there appear to be cast metal..
