Old Williams Clamp

Never seen one before. I looked in the couple catalogs online and didn’t spot one like that.
There’s always a possibility it was made by them for someone else. I just found a Wizard (Western Auto) brake lining tool and much to my surprise it has that Williams forge diamond stamp.
Any markings on the other side?

It appears to be a mount of some kind that clamps to the edge of a work bench with the post sticking up.
It wouldn't totally surprise me if part of this item is missing, possibly an attachment on the post?
I have 2 old Starrett c-clamps that have a post like that, however neither are very large and shaped more like a conventional c-clamp than the OPs. The smaller one (~2" throat) is the common size that came as an accessory with their dial indicator sets, and the larger (~4" throat) looks like a scaled up version, unsure what it would have originally come with.

It could also be a specialty beam clamp. In that case the "c-clamp" part would clamp onto the flange of a beam and the shaft would be used to mount something.
The part number indicates that it is not a regular Williams offering, and is probably the part number assigned by the customer.
