You pagan. You just hurt the feelings of my 250+ wood planes. You are going to give them a complex if you keep this up.Old wood planes? Ever since that Knute Rockne incident wood planes haven't been that popular....
By past history over the last 20 years, could go 2x- 6x that number. I've seen friends buy and sell those models from $500 to $5k for a mint version of the #9.Probably $1000 total circled here, if they aren't broken.
The router in the second picture is probably $150 at least with all those attachments. The #4 1/2 with 3 patent dates is probably worth that or more. I've seen those scrub planes selling for close to and over $100. That #7 or 8? Is probably worth $100+ depending on condition and age.Potential buyer said he felt those were A+.
And those are my three favorites.![]()
Without the blades, many go cheap, like $75 or less. Gets very expensive to build one up to complete, unless you get a bunch of lucky finds tho.Stanley 55? Cool.
I picked up a, what looks unused, case with cutters for one of those at the ReStore for $4. It was easy to grok what they were for, so I thought no problem, find the associated plane. Good Lord those can be expensive. Need to wait for the $4 plane I guess.
Trolling us, aren't you? You know exactly what you have there.
I'd bet money he already knows exactly what he has. That isn't a bunch of random planes someone that knows nothing about planes picked up. That would be like me posting this and asking what are these worth. The router in the second picture is probably $150 at least with all those attachments. The #90 could get close to $100. The core box plane is pretty valuable. The compass plane could be another $100+
Combination planes aren't cheap, especially if they have a lot of the cutters.
Prices can vary based on date, condition,
accessories. Problem is that it would be a lot of work to sell these one at a time.

At least right now, eBay just shows parts at that level. Everything that's a whole plane looks like $250+Without the blades, many go cheap, like $75 or less. Gets very expensive to build one up to complete, unless you get a bunch of lucky finds tho.
Having to buy skates, or other easily detached bits is hard.
Actually, I don't, that's why I asked. Over the course of about 40 years I purchased what I liked when I'd come across them. I probably even overpaid for some of them since I don't watch the "market".Trolling us, aren't you? You know exactly what you have there.
So, does anyone want to put a market number on this batch ? I wouldn't ask for market price, but it's a place to start.

You are correct. My brain just assumed it was a more collectable version due to the nice planes around it. LolReally? I think I see mold lines on the handles, so that's a plastic handled 71. Holy cow, if they're going for that much I may need to dig out my 71; I think I have the depth gauge and several cutters.
Yeah, I wasn't thinking eBay, garage sales, estates sales, and CL. I got my 45 for under $150 w half the blades on CLAt least right now, eBay just shows parts at that level. Everything that's a whole plane looks like $250+
My guess is that you won't stand behind that with an offer. It's unrealistic to even ask for a value on something you can only see one picture of. Too many variables. Look at the back corner of the #9:Best guess with the limited pictures
$2000 for pic #1
250 for pic #2
350 for pic #3
150 for pic #4
250 for what is out in pic #5
50 for pic #6 unless they are rare makers
50 for pic #7
250 pic #8
200 pic #9
200 pic #10
$3600 +/- $500 lol

No way, I just gave an opinion based on what I could see. I have enough planes that I need to sell as it is.
I said $200 for the picture of the two combination planes and a core box plane. I didn't think it was too out of line if they are in ok shape.Yeah, I wasn't thinking eBay, garage sales, estates sales, and CL. I got my 45 for under $150 w half the blades on CL
I was replying to username2. But, I still think you are on the low end of reasonable there.I said $200 for the picture of the two combination planes and a core box plane. I didn't think it was too out of line if they are in ok shape.
Its been 5 or so years but I think I paid less than $150 total for both my 45s at the Brimfield flea market.
The fact that you paid less than $150. for those really means nothing as far as current market value for similar planes. I've paid from less than $10. to over a thousand for a particular plane over the years.

Did you sell the planes? @ToolfoolI appreciate all the input and education. I'll see what he wants to do and report back. Thank you all.
The original buyer decided to offer a trade which I wasn't interested in. I just listed the entire collection in GJ Classifieds. Feel free to make an offer.
I agree. Much better to sell the best stuff off separately, or in small groups. This bunch of tools was posted strangely in the first place and the chances of selling them in the classified ads on a forum with few ********* collectors is slim at best. That's a great collection. I already destroyed the budget with a workbench purchase and there are only a few in there that I "need".
Just my 2 cents:
If I was selling these planes, I would make about 8-10 listings on ebay for the top of the line items and then sell everything else as a group.
I think most people that are into collecting planes at a level to buy the best items you have would have a lot of overlap with their collection.
