I have a few of the Bet'R Grip broached hanger hole JPD adjustable wrenches, but this 6" is the first of the earlier typewriter font versions I've found. This is also prior to JPD date codes. Per AA would put it at 1920's to early 1930's.

Very cool! I don't see many actual Danielsons in the wild, mostly the plomb/proto relabels. Mine are newer. I have a 4" with the broach and newer script, and a 16" with typewriter font that is 1941 dated. It has a tapered handle and is not broached.

My dad found that one buried in a pile of greasy dirt in a corner of a dirty old municipal garage and doesn't look to have been used much. It is one of my favorites.

Thanks. This one is in amazingly good condition after just some minor cleaning. I can't pass up a JPD adjustable when I find one!

I know what you mean. I have more of the Danielson pattern adjustables in my collection than any other, but they're mostly relabels. I do have a Craftsman Vanadium 10" that was actual Danielson production, and it has a hexagonal throat making it the only Danielson with that feature.

I also have an older looking Cornwell 12" in this pattern but I don't know how to date it. It could be Proto :dunno:
Edit: nevermind, it says MFD. USA so definitely a Proto.

That's a nice get, Rubicon.
Thanks. Found this wrench as well as a couple Plomb WF pieces (duplicates of some pieces I already have unfortunately...into the trade box) a Proto LA 1145 DBE that doesn't look like it has ever been used, a 1954 Snap-On 9/16 combo and an old rusty 8" Crescent earlier today. Rehab'd the Crescent and just minor cleaning on the others.
