Hello gents,
Thank you for clicking. For what its worth, I've been a casual lurker here for 4 or 5 years and this is essentially my first post.
I went with a couple friends to a pretty cool old auto salvage yard over the weekend.
I looked in, on around many old wrecks and forgotten automobiles for cool steering wheels but I also found this "gem" sitting on a finished concrete slab next to and old pick up.
I'm curious if anyone can help me identify it. From the shape of the paint fade where the name placard was and the push/pull handle I could tell it was almost certainly a Matco box. From the looking around I did on the interweb I think its a member of the MB series, but I don't know for sure.
Sorry that I only snapped the two pictures, we had walked past it about three times before I stopped to actually check it out,and of course we were short on time.
I plan to go back to this salvage yard with a friend sometime soon. I'm thinking about making an offer on whats left of the roll away. I'd like to further ID the box so I can find out through my Matco man if drawers and parts for this rollaway are something that are still available.
Yes, I am fully aware that shiny new drawers would NOT be cost effective, thats kind of beside the point to me. Id have alot of fun trying to track down similar boxes that I could salvage drawers and parts from. The "take two bad and make one good" approach.
thanks for looking.
