What and how have older Duralast sockets held up for people from say pre 2010 and earlier? AutoZone still warranties these today no questions asked if they break etc. just with what ever they have as they kind of still look close to these. However, AutoZone does not carry these full 6pt sets in 3/8” drive and discontinued them around 2011-2012 maybe earlier.

I have an opportunity to get both sets Duralast 70-322 22pc SAE and 70-324 24pc metric master socket set (include 8mm to 19mm in short and deep, and 1/4" to 7/8" in both short and deep) NEW never used in original packaging both for $100.00 or $60 for one set. Honestly, I really like the tray they sit in to just rest in my tool chest drawer.

Brand new back in say 2009-2010 I think retail pricing would have been $110 for both sets before any sales or discounts.

Example Set Used in 2014 sold for $85

those trays are awesome and the sockets are too i believe they were taiwan made and you can tell. reminds me of toptul from the shape of the socket not by the finish but $100 seems kinda high.

I believe those are some of the high quality Duralast sockets, but the others aren't bad either.

Not worth $100

These sockets are near and dear to my heart, because they were my very first set of sockets I bought for myself. Bought them to work on my first car, a hand-me-down Dodge Spirit from my parents. I bought them about 20 years ago.

I still have them all. Great sockets. I never busted one or rounded any over, even though in my young/dumb years I bought an impact gun before I knew anything about impact sockets.

Picked them up tonight. The chrome and finish look superb. Still love the tray(Sometimes its the little things). The broaching looks nice. Tolerances look good and they fit snug on my ratchets with little to no play. Taller than a Craftsman’s or GearWrench socket by up to 1 millimeter. The box does say exactly as expected made in Taiwan.

Found an old AutoZone flyer that it was originally 49.99 for the SAE set and 59.99 for the Metric set.

So for a set that is discontinued and not available yet still carries a lifetime guarantee for replacement from AutoZone this was a great addition. And after looking around I’d say Duralast reviews and tools from this age are pretty positive.
