Hi guys, new to the forum so apologies if this question has been asked. I'm trying to find parts for an older sears jack the has a number on it that reads 328.12291. The jack raises up but falls quickly when weight is put on it. Thanks

don't mean to HI-JACK a thread, but I have a 1991 or so, taiwan-made Sears jack....model # 214-501100 date 09/91 on the hydraulic ram, it shows: GP911003970

anyone know where I can find seal kit ?? I check HCRC and they don't show this model #. I bought it new in 91/92 or so, worked fine, until recently, goes about 1/2 way up and then starts not lifting.....??

THANKS !!! James Jensen St. Augustine, FL

Yes. This is a 4 year old thread.
It came up on the first page of a Google search for a seal kit for a Craftsman 328.12291.
Just had to say!

And also say----
My jack model above, which has served me well for at least 20 years and has seen MANY ups and downs, has started leaking oil from somewhere. I didn't look exactly where because at it's age I'm sure it deserves to have all new seals. It is an old friend and I want to keep her.
But geez, $60-$70 for a few O-rings and some balls. !

Has anyone rebuild a jack like this with success to warrant spending way too much money on some "cheap" seals?

its most likely the ram seal, but take a look at the jack rebuild thread. Lots of information about how to measure the seals to source them yourself. I did on of the green Japan made jacks last year. There was a guy selling the right size ram seals on ebay at reasonable price.
