I have a bunch of older Snap-On cordless tools like a CT 3850 impact that I have been running with a CTB 4187 Ni Cad battery ( and post adaptor) that now needs replacement. I priced it out from Snap-On and it was like $220 so I am looking at other options. I had a Snap-On battery rebuilt once, it was expensive and did not work/last so I bought the CTB 4187 and post adaptor, that now needs replacement, off the truck like 10 years ago. Can I replace the CTB 4187 Ni Cad with a lithium Ion CTB 6187 if it is cheaper from Snap-On? I found a CTC 620 charger that I never used for some unknown reason. Or is there an aftermarket battery that is any good? Any thoughts? I am not looking to just replace all of my cordless tools because they are not used much.

Honestly, you would be better off converting over to a newer style Milwaukee 12 or 18v system, I've never had any luck with aftermarket battery replacements in these style tools.
