The missus wanted a soda machine in the shop. She wanted one of the square tops with glass door from her childhood...
Picked up one at the auto fair last weekend. It gets nice and frosty.
I cleaned the coin mechanisms up (dirt dobbers) so it works nicely now. I set it to 25cents for her. one of the brackets is bent so the door is not flush and still waiting on her to decide how she wants it painted.

I have one very similair to that, I believe mine is a 14 rack (maybe 12?) Cavalier from 1985. Will vend cans or bottles. I unplugged the coin op and use a momentary switch with a pair of jumper wires to vend.

this one is a css-8-64 it's made for bottles only but found some can toppers that make cans work like bottles...
I told her I could make it free vend but she insisted that the coin op would need to work and it should be 25cents... done and done.

Even though I don't collect dr pepper stuff, I think that would a shame. As long as it doesn't vend blue milk, maybe it would be ok.

Man my ole lady is good to me and almost never asks for anything... if she wants it to fart sprinkles it will. I couldn't care less if it holds any monetary value.

I'd love to make room for a can machine exactly that size. I'd set it for a dime and have a cup with a **** load of dimes for the neighborhood kids to come get a coke (generic).

Chris,

Exactly what I've got going on in my garage! I love to watch guests grab a dime from the cup on top of the machine and drop it into the coin slot. There's something magical about the "thunk" sound as the can rolls out the vend door on the lower front of the machine.

It's great that you have a wife that shares your passion for stuff like that. Kudos to you for finding a keeper.

Looking forward to seeing updates as to the refurbished pop machine. :rocker:

Congrats on the machine, I've wanted one for years. Congrats also on the seemingly awesome wife who is easy on the eyes :)

I hope you realize you're a lucky man.
