Hey guys, after lurking here for a while I've become smitten with the pursuit of vintage tools. These items popped up for sale locally but the seller had little information. The bottom box has "sears" stamped on the front however the top box has no identifying badging. Could anyone provide info for branding and value? This set is currently listed at $100. https://scontent-dfw5-1.**.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/65393757_2365944270153962_4947043584659423232_n.jpg?_nc_cat=105&_nc_oc=AQkC1ZXGTxr9abjrLt5lURo9yODRgIeXBsmICORv_V3D8cLY18es-pT49t_8yHrOY1k&_nc_ht=scontent-dfw5-1.**&oh=a4f647d4e60c54cf2fc3e2a0ce98f4ca&oe=5DB93FC8

Depends upon the market in your area; $100 would be top dollar here.

Waterloo made some Sears boxes, but I can't remember one from them with "Sears" stamped in it. In any case, Craftsman was usually their premium line and anything labled Sears or Dunlap was a step down.

Thanks for the reply...I didn’t know about the difference in sears vs craftsman badging. I generally can talk people well off of their asking price but didn’t know how far off this was.

I had a cheap Waterloo configured like your bottom chest. It was Waterloo's economy line. I paid a $100 new.

The top box is a Kennedy. Painted Government gray like my dad's before I restored it. You won't get hurt by paying 100.00 for that stack.

I ended up negotiating the price down to $65 so I picked it up a few hours ago. Everything seems in decent shape although the "arms" (for lack of a better term) on the top box are missing allowing the lid to fall all the way back.

That's good deal, $50 for the top and $15 for the bottom. If you hang around here, you may need to keep your eyes open for another such deal.

Try to see if your whole top comes up vertical and the lid then just hangs - like older Snap ON KR and KRA chests. Make a picture with the top properly opened - there will be some dividers there and even possibly a small carry-on box (or whatever is the technical term for it)

Congrats on a nice deal!
