Older USA craftsman bench grinder

I need a simple bench grinder for dressing up chisels and things like that from time to time. I have gone a long time without one in my garage but I work with a guy who said he would sell me his old 1/3hp craftsman made in USA one for $50
Anything specific to check wrong on these?
I alway heard you want close to 5amps for a bench grinder.

I have that grinder. It works fine, for what it is, not real powerful, but has done the job for me for over twenty years. The price does seem high, but if the wheels are good, probably worth it. I have a wire wheel on one side that is very useful.

I would not pay more than $25 for that grinder. Judging from the die-cast housing, and the slide power switch, it's just a toy. Also note that even though the amperage seems relatively high, it is likely a very inefficient shaded-pole motor, so while it consumes lots of juice it has very little actual power.

Go up to a 1/2 hp and go back a few years on the manufacture date then $50 would be a good price.

No he's set on the $50 price. I just found another used one. It's an older delta with a stand. Waiting to hear back on the ratings on it.

I have had a similar one one that might be a little older. It has a rocker switch on the front that I had to replace (bad) and the light is on a flex neck(good). It does the job. You can get comperable results from some of the cheap inports.Read the reviews. We had an import at work that had no problems. That old Delta sounds good. When Delta was US owned you could get parts for very old machines. When Stanley sold Delta to Taiwanese company, Chang Press I hear things are not so good. Delta seems to have faded away.
