Oldie but a goodie

Ive used this thing on occasion since I was a kid. Its my dads and he is 72. He said he got it from his dad. No idea on the age. Figured some of you would enjoy seeing it. Its the only one I've ever seen, but I guess they might be common. If you can't figure out what it is I'll tell after a few guesses.

My dad has an older USA made Crescent one. They are really nice to use, until it pinches your finger(s)..........Way better than a cats paw in most cases.
