That motor may not be vintage but is USA made and 1425 RPM instead of 1725, slightly better for metal drilling. Worry about the pulley first and see how you like the present motor, a repaint to match the drill might make it look better. The 4 step pulley is available from industrial suppliers like Mcmaster and Grainger.

Thanks for your input the motor is a good runner but its kind of odd the shaft on the motor is not a 1/2 or 5/8 its 3/4inch in dia. and look at the mounting plate on the motor how far the bottom mounting holes are hanging below the drill mount, if i do use this motor i will need to relocate the mount on the motor and put a bushing in the pulley

We look to have the same dp. I got mine yesterday and like my other hobbies I've dove in head first. My wife is a shrink. She says I have an obsessive disorder! If you restore it keep us updated. We can swim this channel together!

I see what you are talking about for the mount. There are a few diferent ways to make that right.

Here is the pulley you need, already in 3/4 bore.

FWIW, most fractional horsepower motors with 3/4" shafts are for heavy-duty industrial use. The one you have may be much better than the original.

Unsure why the original builder didn't place the drive pulley down next to the end bell, but you'll want to put your stepped pulley down to within 1/8" of clearance. This will help with alignment.

Note that is probably a 1725 RPM motor in the US, looks like the 1425 RPM is at 50 Hz, we're at 60, hence the increase in speed. 3/4" shaft used to be very common, most old Delta 17" drill presses used that size. If you were local I'd offer to trade you a motor with a shaft that fits your pulley.
Good luck, Jim
