I found several old cans of plumbers putty in my fathers shop. What is the shelf life of this product?

As long as its still pliable I use it.

Yeah, if it's the traditional stuff, not some new formulation, use it if it's soft enough to work with. You can also add a few drops of linseed oil to soften if needed.

Ok that's what I was looking for. About 8 containers so far. Would that be a lifetime supply for a home owner?

Throw it all out and buy 1 new can.
