My wife and I were looking around Ollies yesterday and I found what I think is a great deal.

Hardex Blue Medium Strength Nut Lock 6242 50ml bottle $5.99
Hardex Red Heavy Duty Bolt Lock & Bearing 6277 50ml bottle $5.99

These look to be the equivalent to Loctite 242 & 277 respectively. I've seen this brand Hardex at an autoparts store before but I can't remember which one. I'm thinking it was Carquest but I'm not sure.

For the price I picked up a bottle of each. Guess I'll find out if it's any good or not :).

Since it's Ollies Bargain Outlet I'm sure YMMV is in order.

Holy ****! I never realized that Ollie’s spread so far! They started locally. I’d actually run into Ollie at the bar years ago. He actually really looked like his caricature.

Price ain't that great to tell you the truth. Live & learn type ****. I got lucky and picked up a bunch of "pro seal" medium threadlocker for some absurdly low cost on clearance (under a buck). Has been good, zero complaints. Would I use it on other people's hoopdies? Sure why not.

Rolling the dice maybe but if you torque properly it don't mean s*it what kind of threadlocker on there, hell put a piece of juicy fruit on the threads don't mean s*it.:D

I'd say that was a pretty good deal on 50ml bottles, **** a 6ml in blue locktite runs north of $5 here locally at the B&M. Be up that way this Sunday, gonna stop and see if my Ollies has any and check on them Canadian prybars again.

Thanks for the heads up!

Wish I had got that good a deal on the Pro Seal. For the money it's as good as I need therefore as good as 242. Unless you are buying in bulk I have not seen a price locally much better than the pro seal but that $6/50ml isn't bad compared to anyplace near me.

Having better experience than the HF 242 equivalent which is not consistent enough to count on.
