Ball bearing is better.
Also bear in mind that both of the chests that you linked to have the same drawer surface area. That's why I bought the first one you linked to, the platinum colored 6 drawer BB unit. Many of Craftsman's ball bearing line in the same price range also have 6 drawers, but in a different configuration - 3 full width, and 3 1/3 width, meaning the 6 full-width drawer unit has 50% more storage capacity (40% more if you don't ignore the top compartment).
I believe the
THIS UNIT will be on sale during black friday, and possibly for the whole weekend, for less than $150.
The 6 drawer unit has (very roughly) about 1440 sq inches of drawer space, while the 5 drawer unit has about 1680 sq inches of drawer space, and greater capacity since it has three deep drawers, compared to one in the 6 drawer unit. This is due to its larger footprint.
ANYWAYS, ball bearing vs. quiet glide... QG sticks a bit, and it becomes harder to move fully stocked drawers. BB provides for a much smoother operation.
