This is for anybody in Texas with Oncor. If you have a shop at your house with a separate meter what type of rate do you have? Is is residential service or something else?
Not in Texas but Colorado, power from the city as they partnered with a regional power authority years ago. In residential neighborhood. Red iron 40 x 60 “garage” (per zoning/tax) with three phase. It is a slightly different rate; house is on a tiered rate based on time of day (late afternoon and evening significantly higher), shop (3-phase) is actually a few cents more, but no tiered rate.
I worked with a guy that had a meter on his home shop and it was residential service. I do not remember who his provider was and for the record Oncor is the maintenance side and TXU is the billing and service side.
In my area of NC, my previous shop was metered with its own service with a $15 minumum service fee, averaged $30, and was classed as SGS, small garage service.
