Great setup and I dig the BMW - I am partial, though on the adventure side

Have any shots of the tire changer in action - was looking for a spare set of wheels as tire changes are a pain and have been through a bunch in just 30,000 miles.

How do you balance at home?

Great thread!

I haven't done too much to the garage in a while, but I've been busy in the garage. The bike was rebuilt, inspected, and back on the road by March. Followed by several track days throughout the summer. Here I am changing tires, off with the stock Metzler Racetec RRs and mounting some Power Cup 2s:

Plus my wife bought a little Suzuki SX4 with a manual transmission as her city runabout. It's a decent little AWD hatch. She had hopes of our teenagers learning to drive stick and taking it out instead of the minivan, but so far no interest. Sometimes I don't understand how they're my kids. Here it is in the swiss army garage bay getting new spark plugs, coolant purge and vacuum fill, all new filters, oil change, and eventually a front brake job:

Hey there, sorry I didn't see your post earlier.

I use a Max2H EVO2 setup to dismount and mount the tires. Here's a video of it in action from Max2H:

It works well on sport tires. It's a pain in the *** for touring tires. I like it because it folds up and tucks away when not in use, so it's good at not taking up any space in my little garage. Plus, I can take it with me to the track if I wanted.

Now there's a Rabaconda setup that's similar, and I would consider it over the EVO2:

Unless you have garage space for a No-Mar changer. That's probably the best manual option. But you need a place to mount it to the floor, so it wouldn't work for my garage.

I static balance my wheel/tires using a Marc Parnes 'frictionless' balancer. I think any static balancer will work, but I do like the Parnes. I just place it across my jackstands.

We are selling this house, and I already miss my 'swiss army garage bay'... I enjoyed the hell out of this set-up over the years. It's not as convenient as just having more space, but for a single bay everything was easy to get to, easy to pull out and use any of the tools and equipment when needed, and easy to clean up and put it all away again. It was set-up perfectly for how I used the space.

Anyhow, the real estate photographer grabbed some shots of the garage for the listing, and I thought they turned out nice:

I had already started taking some things down off the walls, and packing up loose tools and whatnot, but it's nice he captured it essentially how it was before it all got taken down and ready to be moved.

My new place is older, with a two-car garage that needs some work. But it has potential, so I started a new thread to record its rehabilitation:
