Ive got a quick question for ya wizdawg. How tall is your ceiling and what is the measurement between your shelves and the ceilings? Thanks

I wasn't getting email notification of replies. The floor is pitched down and out of the garage. So the ceiling is between 8'-8" and 8'-10". I put the top of the shelves just about a 1/4" above the top of the garage door rails. The rails happened not to be the exact same distance from the ceiling. So the top of shelf on the pegboard side is about 14.75" from the ceiling, and the side with the window is 15.25"

Wizdawg, great-looking garage. I'm gonna copy your shelves above the tracks. Have you thought about sliding doors for them? How about some 1x3's to trim the bottom so the tracks aren't as conspicuous?

Great job.

I decided to just leave them open to keep the already small distance between the top of the shelf and ceiling as large as possible. I didnt want any extra framing on the shelf or ceiling for sliding door tracks that would close up opening.

Great use of the small space! I know how it is, only having a one car myself, so kudos to you for using it well!

I have a special soft spot in my heart for great looking one car garages like yours. We have a LOT of members on here who have done yeoman's work on the one car spaces.
It was evident at the first finished photo that your work is excellent. The tool boards really look good in there. Every thing is real nice and clean. I like the stereo and speakers on the shelf. You have created a really fine and good looking one car shop. Keep up the good work and steal some ideas from some of our member one car folks. Just remember:

ONE CAR GARAGES ROCK!!!!!

Best Regards

There is one small update somewhat related to the garage. One of the main reasons I did all this work. About 2 months ago I picked up that vintage mustang. 1969 Mach 1, 351w.

I'm new to the forum and I realize this is a older thread, but nice work! I'm limited on space myself and this gives me inspiration ! Great job, and congratulations on the mustang! Hope we see some pictures of it in the garage!
