One Day Epoxy Floors?

OK... A little background. The current house I am in I did the epoxy floor using Legacy products. I ground the floor, pressure washed, primed it, two coats of epoxy and then clear. It took me a solid 3 days to completed. Came out great.

Now we are moving and I just don't have the time to do it again. So I contacted some local guys on yelp that have very good reviews. Two out of the three guys told me that they can do the entire job in one day? Is this even possible to do a good job with quality products? The third guy told me it would take three days and was $300 more for a 3 car garage. But I would rather pay the extra money and have a good job.

Thoughts?

Are they using epoxy or polyurea? Polyaspartic polyurea garage floor coatings can be applied in one day. Half the day for prep and then a couple hours for two coats of polyurea. Check with each and ask about exact materials used and how many coats.

Yes it is but I am not a big fan. They are using an accelerator. The risk is, especially in this hot weather, that a blush could occur. If they are aware of this and know how to deal with it, then go for it.

The epoxy clear coat will amber over time (epoxy clear is really amber in the can, not clear).

See if they can offer you a polyurea or polyaspartic topcoat. Even if it costs a bit more.
You will need several as they are thinner than the epoxy.

Agree with Shea, if using either a polyaspartic or polyurea it can be done if handled properly.

We now offer a one day (one long day, lol) epoxy floor system where you can prime in the am, wait about 2 hours, apply the epoxy and flecks, and then later in the day get back on it to topcoat. Most professionals won't use this as they don't want to have to pay their staff to wait around for curing. We also offer faster curing systems for one day projects using polyaspartics. Short answer, it can be done, but as discussed above, unlikely to do properly with a 100% solids unless they are going to be there all day or use a lot of accelerator which can cause problems.

Here is what they say. They come in in the morning and grind. Then epoxy with chips before 11am (no mention of primer) and then go for a 2 hr lunch. Then come back on do the clear. I am more concerned about the thickness than the slight yellow. I use my space as a shop. And while I love the Legacy product, in Cali the top coat is a little thinner than I would like. If I drop something heavy (hitch ball) it will break through.
